Welcome to Accounting 12!
This is the self-paced version of Accounting 12. (There is also a class available from February to June.)

In this course you will first learn several new basic accounting procedures that were not included in Accounting 11. Following that you will learn to perform accounting procedures using the computer. You will do this by learning to use the accounting software called Sage 50 Accounting.

Prerequisite: 
  • Pass the Accounting 12 assessment or recent completion of Accounting 11 at PALC.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer operation and Windows functions (for saving and back up)

1.     Materials:
The following book is rented:
  1. Accounting 1, 7th Edition by Syme and Ireland (same text you used for Accounting 11
  2. Free Download: A student download of Sage 50 Simply Accounting for use on your home computer.  You can also use Sage 50 at school. Follow the instructions carefully.

  1. Workbook pages: There are several pages you need from the Accounting 1 Workbook (Accounting 11 workbook). You may still have this workbook from Accounting 11. If not, ask a teacher for the copies of the pages as you need them.

2.     Self-paced students get their assignments from the following website :

Keep a record of your marks on the attached Marks Record Sheet.

3.     You will provide a memory stick and binder and paper. All assignments should be kept in a neat and orderly fashion. Memory sticks are available at reasonable prices at a variety of stores.
